Flatiron  Building

One of the oldest skyscrapers of New York is called "The Flatiron Building" and it's designed like a "flatiron". It divides Broadway and the Fifth avenue at 23rd street. The people in the past thought that "the flatiron building" could fall down, but it resists. From 1980 to 1990 the neighbourhood in which it stays was deteriorated. At the beginning of the 21st century it became one of the most important neighbourhood in New York. This building is sat of many film.

My Favorite brand: Superga

My Favorite brand: Superga is an Italian brand of shoes founded in 1911. It originally made like tennis shoes. It was born in Torino  when Walter Martiny  started production of rubber-soled footwear. In 1925 Superga invented new model shoes with vulcanized rubber soles. From 1934, the firm diversified its production to new collections dedicated to other sports and daily life. Strange story

Police in the Maldives arrested a coconut. They said was full of black magic to change election  results. The 'suspicious fruit' had Arabic writing on it. It was a 'sura' (averse from the Koran). People worried about it. They thought it might affect Saturday's national election. People think black magic can change how people vote or stop them voting. The police spoke to a 'ruqyah' (a good magician).ì, who said the coconut was fake and the message and not do it again. A news website said black magic affects life on the Maldives. In July, a school didn't let a voting box into the building. Teachers worried it would makes student sill. In 2012, a religious leader said it was time to stop black magic. He said it was a sin. He also said it caused problems for many families. The leader said black magic was a big social issue in the Maldives.

China
China is the third biggest country in the world. In the country there is the Yangtze river,the highest mountain in the world,Mount Everest. It's one of the oldest civilisations and they invented some instruments like the compass and also paper and silk.  In this country there are various species of animals. The most popular is the Panda that it is rarest. The Great Wall of China is the longest structure in world and it's an important touristic attraction.

My school presentation

The name of my school is Galileo Galilei, it is in Mondragone and it's very big. It is divided in three buildings, In the first building there are many classrooms, a language laboratories, computer lab and library. In the second building there are only classroom. The third build is the theater of the school. Then, there is a gym and sport field. In my class there are 12 students, Claudia sits next to me. She's friendly and lovely. My teachers aren't bad, they are kind with all the classes and the homework isn't heavy.

A Time to remember

Every year, on eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, people remember the end of the First World War and to remember the people that died for their country. This day is commonly known like Poppy day. Moina Bell Michael and Madame Guernin founded in 1921 the 'Legion' and red poppy was its symbol.

Cinco de Mayo 

Cinco de Mayo is celebrated on May 5th. It is diffused in the  United States and in Mexico.This day exalts the values of freedom and democracy.The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican army's unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín. In the United States, Cinco de Mayo is sometimes mistaken to be Mexico's Independence Day the most important national holiday in Mexico which is celebrated on September 16th.

International Workers' Day

International Workers Day is a celebration of laborers and the working classes that first was promoted by the international labor movements, anarchists, socialists, and communists. The date was chosen for International Workers Day by the Second International to commemorate the Haymarket affair, which occurred in Chicago on 4th May 1886. Labour Day is a national public holiday in many countries. On this date people doesn't work and they stay in family.

Earth Day

Earth Day is the international day in which people do something to help the environment . April 22nd  people usually celebrate by doing something  outdoors such as planting trees, picking up roadside trash, conducting various programs for recycling and conservation, using recyclable containers for snacks and lunches. Symbols used by people to describe Earth Day include: an image or drawing of planet earth; a tree, a flower or leaves depicting growth; or the recycling symbol. Colors used for Earth Day include natural colors such as green, brown or blue.This date is important to educate people to respect the environment.

Louise Woodward

Louise Woodward was a British nanny that went to America to work. She worked for a baby called Matthew. One day he died and Louise was accused of murder him. She protested for her innocence. After trial she was life imprisoned. After more sentence, she deported from US and she returned to Britain. Now she is a dance instructor and the people don't know who she is.

Hello,my name is Emanuela and I'm 14.I'm not very tall and I've got brown hair and eyes.I'm an Italian girl and I live in Mondragone. I was born on July the 25th .I am a lovely and friendly person.In my free time I like listening to music,watching tv and reading  books of Harry Potter.I love swimming and playing volleyball.
